does that axe with the 2 hilts still exist? or did they delete them
otherwise maybe if you have one with +40 enchant you can smite again with a ele/mo?

If you can afford it, the +5 energy certainly doesn't hurt for solo monk builds (I use one,) but the gain you get for it is quite miniscule. Generally it's used more as a status symbol than for the actual energy, but in a pinch that 5 energy has been known to help out a lot. As for Furious, IMO it's quite silly on a solo monk since if you're smart you won't be attacking. You get enough adrenaline from balths spirit, and casting speed/reaction is everything with this build, so why would you want to delay a cast due to hitting a target with your damageless sword?

think of the difference between a 14>50 bow and a 15>50 bow. The actual difference in damage is VERY miniscule, yet the price difference from one to the other can be 500k+. It's the price of perfection, don't like it then don't buy one

They still excist, though, you can't double mod them anymore, so don't buy them anymore. Many people try to scam others with the axe (even on GWG), but you can't mod it, so just don't buy it.

I brought a Crystalline Sword and i think its more worth it than a HOD sword. But thats just me.

I wouldn't mind getting a HoD sword since the +5 energy would really help me to nuke things or smite!

Too bad that the sword is somewhere above the range of 400K mark from some sellers.

I utilize a 15% always -5 energy vampiric axe and love utilizing the HoD sword as my switch-off weapon.

Basically, it gives me a +10 energy boost AND improves the length of my enchantments, which is great for hit-and-run tactics (giving you that extra energy for Sprint or a healing enchantment) when soloing.

Is it worth 400K? No, but honestly NOTHING in this game is worth that amount given the high quality of collector's items.

you shouldn't need hod sword if you know what u are doing. The only real benfit of that sword is the +20% enchants. I just use a holy rod that gives me +5 energy while enchanted. It's easier to kill nightmares in uw and I didn't have to spend 450k to get it.

It actually doesn't give any benefit >.< After you take off the HOD sword the game registers takes off 5/5 mana. even if you are at 0 and switch off the HOD sword, you will go to a "-5" when you switch it off.

Ummm...I have absolutely no idea what you are saying. I have 20 energy with my warrior while wielding the -5 energy axe (seeing that I have a gladiator's chest and leg piece). When I switch off to the HoD sword, I have 30 energy.

So, if I've used all of my 20 energy while playing with my axe and switch off, I have 10 extra energy to play with.

Maybe you're thinking that I have used all 30 of my energy while I have the HoD equipped and switch off to my axe and back to the HoD? ???

hell yea they are worth it.. +5 energy always can put mods on it, 20 enchant mod.. thats godly for solo monks. And another reason why they are so much is.. that you used to be able to craft em from the Henge of Denravi weapon crafter.. now you cant.. you cannot produce more swords, so a limited amounts are left. and the prices will continue to rise most likely

So in the end you want to buy a sword for 400k....sure go ahead its not avalible in game anymore unless you buy it but I can tell you from exp. you dont need it. I can do anything with my monk that I need to without it...and the +5 energy just isnt that much...

I seez. So you don't end up switching back to the axe; you were just comparing them together for your net gain in energy.
Probably didn't help that I screwed up my [math] like a nub ^corrected it in my previouis post^

Actually, the best combo for a healing monk using OoB (not an enchant heavy build, of course) would be Gordac's Needle and 20/20 Healing Focus. You get 2 less eng than HoD, but you get 20% faster recharge on OoB. That's better than 2 eng by an overwhelming amount.

Not to mention, Gordac's Needle is hawt as a black holy rod. (Note: The needle is not a holy rod; the item just has the graphic of a holy rod. >.>)

It's just 5 more energy for a mesmer to burn off of you. The Fiery Flame Spitter can give you the 20% enchanting, 10% recharge on all spells, and allows you to still focus swap for extra energy.

obviously you dont know much about monks.. the sword is good not just because of the 5 energy, but also what you can add to it.. can you do that with wands? NO. 20 enchant mod on the sword is just incredibly awesome, and the furious mod on it as well, gives you more adrenaline for bonettis defense (4 farming monks). So this sword is mainly for farmers, and 20 enchant may not seem alot to some of you.. but trust me, when it comes down to it.. its worth it.
my suggestion to you all, get it now b4 it goes up more.. and it will.
